More details are out on the grand New Year’s Eve festivities lined up in Downtown Dubai.
Attendance will be on first-come, first-served basis for those enjoying the light, sounds, and firework show from the streets - with no reservations, registrations or tickets required.
However, restaurants and cafes around the area will require advanced booking.
Transport & Parking
There will be five access points across Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, which is expected to be closed from 6:00 pm onwards, so guests with hotel or restaurant reservations must arrive ahead of time.
Gate 1: Behind Downtown Command Centre
Gate 2: Behind Burj Vista
Gate 3: Near Emaar Square, adjacent to Boulevard Plaza Building
Gate 4: Opposite Address Boulevard
Gate 5: Opposite Address Downtown
The Dubai Mall Metro Station can close any time between 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, depending on the capacity of the mall. Once capacity has been met, the metro station will close.
Taxis will operate as normal while the roads are open. They will not be able to access Downtown Dubai once the roads have been closed by the authorities and drop off/pick up will no longer be allowed.
The road closures along Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard could be lifted any time between 1:00 am and 2:00 am, depending on the directives of the concerned authorities.
The official NYE show will last for seven mins (12:00 am to 12:07 am) while there will be a 3-min Emaar NYE pre-show beginning at 11:57 pm.
Before the show starts, there will also be a DJ performing at Burj Park from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
