Emergency services received over 200,000 calls during the recent extreme weather in the UAE.
In a joint statement by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), they revealed that over 17,000 personnel and thousands of vehicles were mobilised to aid in the effort.
The National Search and Rescue Centre carried out 14 operations and rescued 139 individuals, and authorities helped evacuate and accommodate over 1,800 people who were stuck in flooded areas.
Emirates Red Crescent also distributed approximately 3,860 food parcels and provided medical assistance to those in need.
